Executive Team

MédiMed’s executive team is composed of a core group of experienced individuals who bring together all of the complementary skills that are indispensable to ensuring fruitful application of information technologies in the health-care field.

Michel Bourque, Ph.D., President

Mr. Bourque holds a doctorate in computer science and operations research from the Université de Montréal. He was the founding director of the information technologies department at the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal, director of Télé Santé, and co-founder of Clinidata, a firm specializing in medical computing services. As an expert in the design of interactive programs and applications in health IT and clinical research, he is responsible a number of products that have found a recognized place in the market. They include a drug database used in a large pharmacy chain, education and information programs for patients and the general public, a computerized health record, a clinic management suite, and a remote data-entry system for clinical research used at the national and international levels.

Robert Perreault, M.D., FRCPC, Vice-president, Scientific and Professional Affairs

Dr. Perreault received his medical training at the Université de Montréal and McGill University. He then began a career in clinical research and prevention as medical director of the information technologies department of the Clinical Research Institute and Télé Santé, where he took an interest in computer-assisted health education and assistance with clinical decision making. He is an associate professor in psychiatry in the faculty of medicine at the Université de Montréal and an assistant professor at McGill University. He is a consulting physician in preventive medicine for Montreal’s Public Health Authority. Dr. Perreault has been a Board Member of the major research funding bodies in Canada and was a founding Board member of both the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and Canada Health Infoway. His current research deals with medical error reduction and the design of new research instruments for the integration of clinical and administrative databases.

Pierre Léonard, Pharm.D., Vice-president, Corporate Development

Dr. Léonard has more than twenty years’ experience in the health field. He has held numerous management and executive positions in various major pharmaceutical companies and emerging firms, notably in the biotechnology sector. These positions have enabled him to develop specialized expertise regarding the launch of leading-edge products in the health-care sector.
